Halifax Antiquarian Society has lectures approx. fortnightly September to May with some excursions for members in the summer. http://www.halifaxhistory.org.uk/
Hebden Bridge Local History Society meets fortnightly from late September to the end of March with a varied lecture programme : http://www.hebdenbridgehistory.org.uk
Greater Elland Historical Soc. on http://www.gehs.org.uk/ have a programme of winter lectures. They also have a History Room in part of Messrs Dobson's premises near St Mary's Parish Church which is open March to Sept. on Wednesdays 2.00 p.m. - 4.00 p.m.
Charlestown History Group is not now as active as formerly but their website is a mine of information about that area : http://www.charlestownhistory.org.uk/
Todmorden, Hipperholme & Lightcliffe, Ryburn, Brighouse, and Mytholmroyd all have local history societies with lectures in winter and some have other activities during the year.
